Head of the Probation Service of Armenia Gevorg Simonyan and the Helsinki Association for Human Rights Protection NGO Nina Karapetyants today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC).

The aim of the MoC is to combine the parties’ capacities in the processes of implementing resocialization actions and programs for probation beneficiaries to be law-abiding, raise their legal awareness and help them reintegrate into public life and prevent new crimes, as well as to contribute to the development of the probation sector through the dissemination of public information, improve the conditions of the Probation Service and enhance the skills and abilities of probation officers.

The parties agreed that the MoC will help improve the functioning of the probation institution in Armenia.
