President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan today convened a working consultation devoted to the issues related to the provision of status of disability, as reported the Central Information Department of the Office of the President of Artsakh.

The head of state attached importance to the implementation of radical reforms in the sector since citizens have been sounding alarms and sending letters and complaints about unfair decisions for years.

Haroutyunyan stressed that the criteria for establishing categories of disability and the legislation on those orders will be reviewed in order to solve the sector-specific problems and assigned to restructure the existing medical-social expert examination commission. Haroutyunyan also assigned the authorized bodies to study the existing criteria for the provision of relevant categories of disability and make new proposals within a specific time limit.
