The situation in Yeghegnut village of Armenia’s Armavir Province is tense at the moment. The villagers have taken to the streets and are demanding that their former mayor not be reinstated.

They say the former mayor has been looting the village for years.

As reported earlier, by the decision of the Court of Appeal, the former head of Yeghegnut, Razmik Margaryan—who, after the revolution in 2018, had resigned under the pressure of the villagers—shall be reinstated, whereas the current acting mayor, Razmik Mkrtchyan, shall resign.
