YEREVAN. – The court session on the criminal case against second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials has resumed Tuesday at the Shengavit district court of the Yerevan court of first instance.

To note, these court hearings have been postponed for a long time. The previous session was postponed because the arrangement of the sessions’ hall did not enable to ensure the social distance needed between those in attendance. The question became especially topical after former Defense Minister and defendant Seyran Ohanyan's lawyer Karen Mejlumyan and his wife—and also Ohanyan’s attorney—Inessa Petrosyan became infected with the coronavirus, while CSTO ex-chief and defendant Yuri Khachaturov's lawyer Mihran Poghosyan said that he had been in contact with a person infected with COVID-19 and had not yet received the test result.

At the previous hearing, the defense petitioned the court to provide the necessary conditions in the courtroom.
