During a discussion on the package of bills on making amendments and supplements to the Law on Subsoil and related laws held as part of the special session of the National Assembly of Armenia today, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Lilia Shushanyan said the proposed amendments are targeted at rational and effective use of mineral resources in Armenia.

The bills propose to not issue permits for extraction, if the mineral resources in the particular territory haven’t been examined and approved.

The deputy minister also stated that from now on, mines will be provided for full use of all resources, not partially. “From now on, mines won’t be distributed among various enterprises,” Shushanyan stressed.
