Twenty-eight Georgian soldiers from NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been brought home with the help of the German Air Force, the Georgian Defence Ministry reported.

According to the agenda.de, the ministry said that Afghan personnel was the source of the infection.

"The soldiers have been transported to Georgia with a charter flight several weeks before the completion of the mission. Other Georgian soldiers who will return to the country after the completion of the mission will have to spend two weeks in quarantine," the ministry noted.
