EU FMs do not exclude the imposition of sanctions against Turkey for violation of the sovereign rights of Greece and Cyprus amid the exploration of energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, Euronews TV channel reported.
At a meeting of EU FMs on Monday in Brussels, it was noted that Turkey sent ships for drilling for gas in the Mediterranean region. According to the statement of Cyprus, it has exclusive rights to this region.
In August, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, is due to submit a list of targeted measures against Turkey that will be implemented in case of violation of the sovereign rights of Greece and Cyprus.
