Law firm Boies Schiller Flexner sued Google Alphabet Inc, accusing the latter of tracking in users.

According to the company, Google illegally collected user data, even when they opted out, Reuters reported.

The company is accused of violating federal wiretap law and California privacy law.

The lawsuit alleges the data collection happens via Google’s Firebase.

“Even when consumers follow Google’s own instructions and turn off ‘Web & App Activity’ tracking on their ‘Privacy Controls,’ Google nevertheless continues to intercept consumers’ app usage and app browsing communications and personal information,” the lawsuit contends.
