News about trucks filled with Armenian goods being brought out of Moscow’s Food City market at midnight was posted on social networks today. Some suppliers reported that the food was already rotten.

The Union of Armenians of Russia held talks with Russian government officials, including the administration of the President of Russia in regard to the situation at Food City.

The Union of Armenians of Russia issued a statement stating the following: “We informed them about the situation that was created as a result of violating the rights of Armenian lessees and asked to take measures to restore their lawful rights in a short period of time. As Head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities’ Affairs I. Barinov reported, Food City’s leadership assured that all lessees, including the Armenian lessees are equally important and will do everything possible to solve the situation.”
