President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today visited the Elbakyans, who reside in the Marmashen village of Shirak Province and whose son, Captain of the Armenian Armed Forces Sos Elbakyan, was recently killed as a result of Azerbaijan’s military operations in the northeastern sector (Tavush Province) of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
President Sarkissian expressed his deep condolences to Captain Sos Elbakyan’s parents and stated that their son sacrificed his life to protect the homeland and the peace and security of all citizens of Armenia.
The head of state also expressed gratitude to Captain Sos Elbakyan’s parents for raising such a brave and patriotic son, respected his memory and stated that all Armenians take pride in the army and its brave servicemen.
At the local monastery, Sarkissian lit a candle in memory of Captain Sos Elbakyan and all servicemen who have sacrificed their lives for the homeland.
