UNESCO Paris headquarters will hold a photo exhibition of Armenian khachkhars (crosses made of stone) next week, reports Nouvelles d’Arménie.

The exhibition will feature 60 photos of khachkhars, dating back to ancient times. Simultaneously three major conferences will be organized, devoted to protection of cultural monuments.

Out of 50 000 Armenian cross stones, none repeats the other and each has its own narrative. Armenian cross stones were added to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity Representative List on November 17, 2010, to greatest disappointment of Azerbaijan, who opposed the decision, arguing that other nations also have cross stones.
