Twitter Inc has restricted access to Donald Trump Jr.'s account for 12 hours because the tweet he posted violates the platform's COVID-19 disinformation policy.

The eldest son of the US President posted a video in which doctors talk about the drug hydroxychloroquine, which has been removed from Twitter. The video was also removed by Facebook Inc and YouTube for violating COVID-19 disinformation rules.

President Trump also retweeted a post late Monday night linking to a video accusing Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's chief infectious disease specialist of curbing the use of the hydroxychloroquine drug to treat the new coronavirus.

These posts have been removed as part of Twitter enforcement action.
