During a discussion entitled “Social Policy of the Government During the Epidemic: Is it in the Interests of Citizens?”, leader of the For Social Justice Party Arman Ghukasyan said his political party had initially said Armenia needs to work on creating a major reserve of medical accessories and use the latter to meet the demands of the vulnerable layers of society first.

According to him, the authorities needed to consolidate the society and various forces around the crisis, but they didn’t. “They also needed to concentrate the existing resources and distribute them under the principle of social justice. As far as the government’s anti-crisis programs are concerned, they weren’t very effective,” he stated.

Ghukasyan added that the authorities have initially given a wrong evaluation of the consequences and thought the crisis would only last one or two months, in spite of the serious signals from abroad.
