TA Hotel Management Limited Partnership, which owns Trump's international hotel in Vancouver, filed for bankruptcy on Thursday, ABC reported.

The company has liabilities of 4.7 million Chinese dollars (3.59 million US dollars) and assets of 1.1 million Chinese dollars (840,000 US dollars).

The first meeting of creditors is expected on September 16.

The hotel was officially opened in February 2017 with the participation of Donald and Eric Trump and hotel developer Tiah Joo Kim. This event sparked a protest. Vancouver Mayor and other local politicians did not attend the event.

The hotel employed about 250 people.
