The issues related to energy and natural gas supply are the most important issues in the relations between our two allied states, and there is a rather wide agenda. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said in an interview with Interfax, responding to the question whether the issue of ‘natural gas’ can be of detriment to the allied relations between Russia and Armenia.

“Russia and Armenia have a common agenda of issues related to security and economic development, and we are working in these directions. We have good potential to negotiate and reach agreements. The most important thing is to reach an agreement,” the minister stated. In response to a specifying question whether there is mutual understanding and how the talks ended, the foreign minister said the following: “We are working in this direction. I am unequivocally certain that we can reach an agreement. We are working at the level of intergovernmental commissions, and I believe it is very likely that we will be able to reach an agreement.”
