The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is developing rules for confirming the country of origin of a good within the Eurasian Economic Union for the purpose of public procurement, as reported the EEC.

“The EEC is particularly focused on the establishment of rules for confirming the country of origin of goods and maintenance of the register for Eurasian industrial products for the purpose of public procurement. Currently, out of the 221 types of goods on the list, 182 are agreed upon, and the EEC is still working on the other types of goods,” Chairman of the Board of the EEC Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

According to the press release of the EEC, the Commission offers to apply the so-called cooperation principle when parts produced in other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are used during the production of a good (this would help enhance cooperation ties between manufacturers of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union).
