YEREVAN. – The trial on the case of Robert Kocharyan is a farce, as the court is not ready to administer justice. Hayk Alumyan, a lawyer of the second president of Armenia, said this at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to him, any motion at court is resolved in accordance with the opinion expressed by the prosecution, and it can be said that the court has even become one of the accusers. "In fact, the arrangement [at court] is as follows: lawyers and defendants on the one hand, prosecutors and the judge on the other hand," said the lawyer.

As for the injured parties' dissatisfaction with the prosecution and their decision to no longer attend the court hearings of this case, the lawyer assumed that they had no other reason, but they use the pretext of putting pressure on the court. "It must be said that the pressure is already noticeable; this is evidenced by the court’s decisions made which are obviously illegal,” Alumyan said.
