Brussels is preparing a list of potential sanctions against Turkey so that it forces Ankara to restrict exploration of gas in the Eastern Mediterranean, DW reports.

At the same time, the situation continues to escalate due to Ankara’s talks over military maneuvers and ‘the pretext of war’. In late August, EU foreign ministers said the only solution was the preparation of a list of special sanctions, and EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell declared that the EU leaders ‘might’ decide adopt the sanctions during the September 24 session of the European Council.
