On September 8, a meeting of the Board of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) of Armenia was held, the agenda of which was the election of a new CEO of the Union. As a result of competitive elections, during which the candidates presented their vision and programmatic provisions for the development of UATE, Raffi Kassarjian took over as the CEO of the Union.

“Raffi Kassarjian, relying on his rich experience in the field of ICT and knowledge of the values of UATE, will successfully implement his vision of the development of the Union. He will definitely strengthen and enrich successes in the projects that the Union has been implementing during these years, based on the significant legacy of Karen Vardanyan and the traditions of UATE,” noted UATE Chairman Alexandr Yesayan.

“For about two decades, UATE, led by our dear Karen Vardanyan, has played a key role in the development of technology in Armenia. Having been a member of the UATE council and community for many years, I am delighted to take over as CEO. I look forward to fruitful work with our staff, board, members, government, educational, international organizations, private partners to create effective conditions for the next stage of development in our field, of course, to promote Armenia,” said the newly elected CEO.

R. Kassarjian is a Stanford University graduate, holding a BA in Arts of International Relations and an MBA. He has worked for a number of US and Armenian companies gaining experience in product management, strategic design and executive management. Held senior positions in “DASAR, INC” (Palo Alto), “ARAGAST B Software” (Yerevan), “ACCENTURE” (San Francisco), “FAIR ISAAC CORPORATION” (San Rafael), “ICON COMMUNICATIONS” (Yerevan), “CONVERSE BANK/CORPORACION AMERICA” (Yerevan), “MONITIS INC/TEAMVIEWER ARMENIA” (Yerevan), contributing to the development of the latter.
