YEREVAN. – Supporters of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, are at the yard of the Yerevan court—and in support of him.

Also, they are holding banners that read: "[PM] Nikol [Pashinyan], the murderer."

Speaking to reporters, Narek Mantashyan, co-founder of the “Alternative” NGO, said that the criminal case against Kocharyan was fabricated and subject to being dropped. "And end must be put to this joke," he added, in particular.

As reported earlier, Tuesday’s court session on the criminal case against Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials is being held behind closed doors.

The previous hearing on September 8 was also a closed session. At that hearing, defense attorney Aram Vardevanyan had filed a motion with the court to revoke the attachment on the former president's property and bank accounts, and had submitted a respective expert assessment to the court. However, the lawyer had requested a closed hearing, and the court had granted this request.
