The work of the Northern Foreign Economic Activity Service Center of Armenia started Tuesday in Gyumri.

According to the chairman of the State Revenue Committee Edvard Hovhannisyan, the operation of this center will be a turning point for the further development of Armenia’s customs agency and the specifying of strategic target directions.

For the time being, the center will serve as the Northern Customs House-Department.

The construction of this center started in August 2019, about 5 billion drams have so far been allocated from the state budget for its construction, and its design estimates are currently underway.

In the second phase, it is planned to build a large parking lot and other complex infrastructure for imports, customs warehouses, and trucks.

The Northern Foreign Economic Activity Service Center is expected to be fully operational in 2022.
