Residents of Shahumyan rural community of Armenia’s Ararat Province have ended their protest. They will wait until Sunday and will come to a joint decision.

These farmers complain about the factories’ low procurement prices for grapes. According to them, the factories sign respective contracts with them for 150 drams, but carry out the procurement for 100 drams.

The farmers will meet with the directors of these factories and decide on the price the grapes shall be procured.

The demonstrators had closed off the Yerevan-Yeraskh motorway in protest, but they reopened it some time thereafter.
