The issue of expressing lack of confidence in and impeaching Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan is being considered during today’s session of the National Assembly.

The initiative was undertaken by the Bright Armenia faction, which had also held a protest under the slogan “For the Bright Light of Armenia”.

According to the participants of the demonstration and in the opinion of the Bright Armenia faction, Harutyunyan hasn’t undertaken any initiative during the past two years of his term of office besides mocking and ignoring teachers and professors and publicly degrading them.

Bright Armenia faction believes that the minister hasn’t implemented all the reforms it had to implement.

The minister himself had stated that he isn’t planning to resign.

Recently, young Armenians have been demanding Harutyunyan’s resignation more often, and they are particularly the applicants who weren’t accepted to universities this year and their parents. In their turn, members of the Freedom movement have accused the minister of serving the interests of Soros.
