YEREVAN. – There is no demand for the resignation of education, science, culture and sports minister Arayik Harutyunyan, as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wants it that way, but the workers in the sphere continue to suffer. Davit Khazhakyan, head of the opposition Luys faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders and member of the parliamentary opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP), said this during Wednesday’s protest outside the National Assembly building.

The BAP is carrying out a demonstration in front of the parliament building, and demanding the resignation of minister Harutyunyan.

"We have conducted surveys, and comparing their results, we have realized that it is a 'parade' of failures in the spheres coordinated by him [Harutyunyan]," Khazhakyan said.

According to him, it is obvious that both the opposition and various representatives of the authorities are dissatisfied with the current situation in the domains headed by Harutyunyan. "This means that the time has come for him to resign," Khazhakyan added, in particular.

Davit Khazhakyan noted, in particular, that the people expected changes in the educational sphere in Armenia, but their expectations were not met.
