As a result of the actions carried out in the criminal case under investigation by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, a number of circumstances were revealed with respect to apparent misuse committed by Aram Simonyan, the former rector of Yerevan State University (YSU).

According to the information obtained during the investigation, Simonyan—in his capacity as YSU Rector—had misused a particularly large amount of money—totaling 34,362,581 drams—from the funds of the Yerevan State University Foundation, transferring it—by bank transfer—to the director of a company.

The former rector of YSU has been charged under the Criminal Code article on embezzlement or misuse.

A signature bond not to leave Armenia has been chosen as a pretrial measure against him

The investigation is still in progress.
