After today’s session of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract Party, Chief of Staff of the Government of Armenia Eduard Aghajanyan was asked if it is true that $250,000 was spent to paint the Armenian government plane, to which Aghajanyan said the news about spending $250,000 to pain the “Number One” government plane is inaccurate.

“Unfortunately, I can’t state the amount, taking into consideration confidentiality. I can only say that it is much less than $250,000, and I have especially assigned to demand that the given media outlet presents a refutation,” he said.

When told that the government has always talked about open and transparent governance, Aghajanyan stated that the law prohibits the release of this information since the plane serving the Prime Minister is classified as confidential.

In response to a reporter’s question about the need for making the plane look new, Aghajanyan said there was a need to update the plane since the paint was spilling. “I repeat that the presented amount absolutely doesn’t correspond to reality and is an absolute lie,” he added.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the new look of the “Number One” government plane cost the government more than EUR 210,000 (about USD 250,000).
