A tense situation has been created Friday in Armavir Province of Armenia, shamshyan.com reported.
Residents of about four villages have closed of the Etchmiadzin-Margara motorway at the Yeraskhahun village section, and as a sign of protest.
The farmers say they had believed in the authorities when the latter had urged them to grow eggplants and peppers in the spring, but now they are unable to sell these vegetables they have grown.
Several police officials arrived at the scene, urging the protesting farmers to continue their demonstration off the aforesaid road, and the farmers agreed to continue their protest off the motorway.
But they say only the Prime Minister can resolve this problem.
