YEREVAN. – The trend of increasing jobs in recent months has continued in August, too, and we have 13,422 more jobs in August 2020 than in August 2019, and we have 4,946 more new jobs in August, as compared to July. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

"The payroll in the whole country was more by 10 billion 74 million drams, or by 9.6%, in August 2020, as compared to 2019, but was less by 2.663 billion drams, as compared to July. We need to find out what this has to do with.

The [monthly] salary of one person was higher by 13,671 drams, or by 7.1%, in August 2020, as compared to 2019, but it was lower by 5,973 drams, or by 2.9%, in August, as compared to July,” the PM added.

For his part, Edvard Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, noted that the payroll was less in August, as compared to July because the latter is a vacation month, and the amount of salary calculated this month is higher. He added that the same trend was recorded in July-August 2019, too.
