Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Armenia’s financial institutions have revised nearly 1,000,000 loan agreements worth a total of AMD 1,500,000,000,000. This is what Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan said during hearings on “Application of penalties, fines and loan interest rates, credit amnesty and other loan-related issues in the banking system of Armenia” held in parliament today.

According to him, there are nearly 550,000 natural persons and 17,000 legal persons who are beneficiaries of revised loan agreements. Yeritsyan added that such large-scale and extensive revision of loan agreements by financial institutions is the best expression of goodwill and partnership towards customers since those financial institutions and their owners covered the expenses for revision of those agreements.
