The Armenian community of France held a large gathering near the National Assembly building in Paris Tuesday evening.

The participants demanded that the French authorities recognize the independence of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

Later, a candlelight vigil was held at the monument to Komitas.

Speaking to Armenpress, Ellada Ghukasyan, a journalist living in France, said that on October 20 they will gather again in the vicinity of the French National Assembly to demand the recognition of Artsakh's independence.

The gathering was attended also by Nicolas Aznavour, the son of the late legendary chansonnier Charles Aznavour, as well as French MP Valerie Boyer.
