Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Turkey Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu have substantively discussed the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers stated that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of the issue. “The parties confirmed the need for steadfast implementation of the provisions stated in the statement issued by the Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers on October 10 in Moscow. The parties also mentioned the need for immediate establishment of a ceasefire regime and an agreement on control mechanisms, as well as the importance of operational coordination of the steps to oversee the negotiation process,” the press release reads.
