The United Nations Security Council discussed hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, Global Village reported, citing AFP.

Te Council members called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to respect a new ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The UN Security council held closed-door discussions on the fighting, which has left hundreds dead since clashes erupted on September 27.

Russia, which currently holds the council’s rotating presidency, is working on a statement that would call for adherence to the ceasefire, diplomats say.

The text—which is expected to be agreed between council members this week—will also call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume negotiations facilitated by the OSCE Minsk Group.
