President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan today convened an enlarged working consultation.

The head of state touched upon the war and stated that it is necessary to prepare for long-term operations, taking into consideration the enemy’s ambitions.

According to Haroutyunyan, the ensuring of operation of infrastructures, the timely supply of food, the payment of pensions and salaries, as well as the solutions to the social issues of citizens of Artsakh having temporarily moved to Armenia as a result of the hostilities must be part of the activities in the rear. “There has to be an operational headquarters in Yerevan, which will have task forces in Armenia’s provinces. The aim of the headquarters will be to deal with the social issues facing all families having moved to Armenia as a result of the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression. I call on young people to set up voluntary groups to support the headquarters,” the President said.

Touching upon the situation on the military front, Haroutyunyan stated that the Defense Army and the militia continue to show resistance to the enemy’s attacks, making the enemy suffer significant casualties in terms of manpower and military equipment. “The army and the population get the picture of the hardships of this war and the problems with overcoming those problems in the long run. Taking the opportunity, once again, I call on all conscripts of Artsakh in Armenia to return to Artsakh and support their brothers as soon as possible,” Haroutyunyan said.
