Yerevan affirms the willingness for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on mutual concessions. This is what Spokesperson of the Prime Minister of Armenia Mane Gevorgyan told Armenpress.

“The Prime Minister of Armenia has declared several times the willingness and need for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on mutual concessions and within the framework of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group,” Mane Gevorgyan stated.

According to her, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had declared that Azerbaijan is the one that is renouncing the reached agreements and showing a maximalist approach.

“The Prime Minister has said that when Armenia declares that this or that concession is acceptable for Armenia, and it seemed that it had been acceptable for Azerbaijan until then, the compromise very quickly becomes unacceptable for Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister has said that now when Armenia expresses the willingness for mutual concessions, Azerbaijan demands more. Thus, the statement of the President of Azerbaijan that Armenia must declare that it stays true to the main principles for settlement developed by the US, Russia and France, this causes surprise since Armenia has always stayed and stays true to those principles,” Mane Gevorgyan emphasized.
