After examining the case of determining compliance of the obligations stipulated in the International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries with the Constitution, the Constitutional Court of Armenia stated that the commitments comply with the Constitution.

On October 13, the Government of Armenia approved the bill of Armenia on ratifying the International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries and applied to the Constitutional Court to clarify the issue of compliance with the Constitution.

In case there is a decision of the Constitutional Court on recognizing the obligations stipulated in the international convention as complying with the Constitution of Armenia, the government’s legislative initiative will be submitted to the National Assembly of Armenia in the prescribed manner.
