Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Thursday received Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Yerevan on a working visit.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zone as a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, as well as regional security issues. Both sides expressed concern over the transfer of international terrorists from the Middle East to the region, considering it a serious threat to the entire region.

FM Mnatsakanyan stressed that Armenia understands Iran's sensitivities in relation to new threats to regional security, and underscored Iran's role in maintaining regional stability and peace.

Iranian Deputy FM Araghchi presented his country's approaches to overcoming the situation and establishing a ceasefire. In this context, the Armenia’s FM noted that Iran's approaches to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be studied in detail.
