Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

Welcoming Araghchi to Yerevan, Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia highly appreciates the friendly ties with Iran and transmitted his greetings to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani and the friendly government of Iran.

In his turn, the Iranian deputy foreign minister transmitted to the Prime Minister the warm greetings of the President of Iran and wishes for peace, emphasized that the strong and friendly ties with Armenia are important for Iran and shared Iran’s approaches to overcoming the situation created in the region, expressing deep concern over the ongoing hostilities.

Araghchi also expressed condolences over the deaths among peaceful civilians and viewed the targeting of civilian infrastructures and settlements as condemnable.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional security issues and expressed concern over the involvement of international terrorists from the Middle East in the hostilities. Prime Minister Pashinyan highly appreciated Iran’s balanced and constructive approach to regional issues.
