The details of Armenia's petition to Russia will be further discussed. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, on Saturday.

She recalled that on the same day, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia will provide all the necessary assistance to Yerevan if the clashes in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zone move directly to the territory of Armenia.

"In this case, we are talking about the Russian side’s principled position which was voiced in connection with Armenia's petition. What is connected with specific formats will be additionally discussed," Zakharova said on the air of a Russian TV channel, when asked what actions can be taken in case of armed conflicts.

As reported earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday petitioned to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to start immediate consultations to determine the assistance that Russia can provide to Armenia for ensuring its security amid the aforesaid clashes.
