YEREVAN. – Only Italy, Spain, and Portugal have not informed about the completion of the ratification process of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Armenia and the European Union (EU). The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Avet Adonts, said this during the debates on the 2021 draft budget at Thursday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on European Integration.
Moreover, he noted that these three countries, however, have completed their respective internal ratification procedures. "The ratification process is concluded in all 27 EU countries, but there are three other countries—Italy, Spain, and Portugal—which have not yet officially notified the EU Secretariat of the completion [by them] of the ratification process," said Adonts.
The deputy FM also noted that the CEPA ratification process will be completed only when those countries also inform the EU Secretariat about its ratification by them, too.
CEPA was signed between Armenia and the EU on November 24, 2017 in Brussels.
