The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) had received accurate information, including from the associate intelligence services in the Middle East countries, about the engagement of militants from Syria in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, SVR director Sergey Naryshkin told RIA Novosti.

According to Naryshkin, the FSVR had “accurate information about the presence of terrorists—including from the Middle East and, first of all, from Syria—in the battle zone."

"We receive these data from a number of countries, various sources, and our various associates, associate services in the Near East, the Middle East," Naryshkin added.
