The Russian helicopter was downed from the side of Nakhchivan. This is what Secretary of the Defense Army of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Suren Sarumyan said during a briefing this evening.
“The Russian helicopter was flying, the column of cars was escorting, and the helicopter was downed from the side of Nakhchivan,” Sarumyan said.
On the evening of November 9, a Russian helicopter was downed from the side of Nakhchivan with MANPAD missiles. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan acknowledged this and declared that it all happened “by accident” and expressed the willingness to compensate. Two pilots died, and the third pilot was wounded.
