YEREVAN. – The following persons have been detained within the framework of the criminal case initiated by the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia in connection with the organization and holding of rallies by high-ranking officials, as well as other persons, in violation of the law:

Gagik Tsarukyan (chairman of the Prosperous Armenia Party), Garnik Isaghulyan (chairman of the National Security party), Suren Surenyants (political scientist), Gegham Manukyan (head of political and news programs of “Yerkir Media” TV), Davit Hambardzumyan (Mayor of Masis city), Ara Sahakyan (political figure), Artur Vanetsyan (chairman of the Homeland party), Eduard Sharmazanov (spokesperson and vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia), Artur Ghazinyan (chairman of the One Armenia party), and Ishkhan Saghatelyan (a representative of the Armenia Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party).

And activists Vahagn Chakhalyan and Hrachya Ghukasyan have been included in this criminal as suspects, and a signature bond not to leave Armenia was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

The investigation of the aforesaid criminal case continues, the SIS informed.
