Spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov today told reporters that the command of the Armed Forces of Russia needs to answer the question regarding the technical specifics of the participation of Russian peacekeepers in the transfer of the Lachin region to Azerbaijan, TASS reported.

“The transfer of that region is envisaged by the joint statement signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. It is an obligation that the Armenian party has assumed. As far as the direct participation of peacekeepers in this process is concerned, I can’t answer that question now. It would be better to ask the command,” Peskov said.

Based on the text of the statement, Armenia shall hand over Kelbajar region to Azerbaijan by November 15, 2020, and the Lachin region — by December 1, 2020.
