Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Haroutyunyan on Tuesday convened an enlarged working meeting to discuss the mechanisms of state support to be provided to the local population to overcome the post-war social situation.

As per the President, in the first stage, a number of respective social programs will be launched; in particular, all public utilities (natural gas, electricity, water, etc.) and communication services (mobile and fixed telephones, internet) will be free of charge for the population for one year—but with reasonable volume limits.

According to the next important program, appropriate financial assistance will be provided to those needy families whose monthly per capita income is less than the 60 thousand drams of the minimum consumer basket.

Also, all those who are left homeless as a result of the recent war will receive a one-time state support of 300 thousand drams per capita, and the reconstruction of war-damaged houses will begin in the coming days.

"The government is committed to solving the housing problems of all our homeless citizens within a few years; but until then, the state will continue to provide financial assistance—in the form of rent reimbursement—to the above-mentioned families," said the President.

The financial assistance to be provided to the militia, and some other social programs were also discussed during the meeting.
