YEREVAN. – The agenda of the opposition does not change, as nothing is happening; the opposition rallies will continue in Armenia. Mikayel Melkumyan, a member of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction in the National Assembly (NA), stated this during Thursday’s briefings in the NA.

He added that law enforcement agencies do not allow opposition party leaders to take part in protest rallies.

Seventeen opposition parties have been holding rallies in Yerevan in recent days, and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
