Several days ago, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian called for declaring Sunday, November 22 to be a day of remembrance for the heroes who have fallen for the defense of the homeland in the recent Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] war.
Also, it was decided to hold a respective memorial service that day in all Armenian churches.
The commemoration ceremony at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin—and presided over by the Catholicos of All Armenians—will take place after the Divine Liturgy, at 1:30pm, at the open-air altar of St. Tiridates.
On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh.
