I submitted a resignation letter to Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. This is what ex-deputy defense minister Gabriel Balayan said in response to Tert.am’s journalist who asked if he will continue to serve as deputy defense minister.

“During my term of office, my colleagues and I have done everything possible to make reforms in the defense sector with unconditional dedication and have recorded achievements at the institutional level. Unfortunately, I have also recorded omissions, and based on this, I submitted a resignation letter to the Prime Minister on November 20,” Balayan said.

Balayan expressed gratitude for the cooperation and voiced hope that tangible successes will be recorded for the Republic of Armenia and its security after the new appointments.

“I bow in memory of all the martyrs and wounded servicemen and their relatives and close ones. Glory to the Armenian Army,” Balayan said.

Gabriel Balayan was appointed deputy defense minister on May 29, 2018.
