Foreign Ministers of South Korea and China Kang Kyung-wha and Wang Yi held talks in Seoul amid reports about the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the country.

Wang Yi noted that his visit is intended to highlight the importance of bilateral relations, as the two countries cooperate as strategic partners in protecting regional peace and stability and promoting global governance. The COVID-19 crisis could not defeat the citizens of our two countries, he said.

According to him, bilateral communications have overcome the COVID-19 test and are showing their strength and even more energy.

Countries are exploring the possibility of Xi Jinping's visit to Seoul. His visit was expected earlier this year but has been postponed due to the pandemic.
