Paris does not recognize the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic [(Artsakh)]; this is noted in a statement issued by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

"On November 25, the [French] Senate passed a resolution calling on the French authorities to recognize the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. During the debate prior to the vote, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State at the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, reminded the French government’s position on the issue,” the statement said. "France does not recognize the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic."
