Parts of weapons of Israeli origin were found at the scene of the assassination attempt on nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Press TV reported.

Parts recovered from the assassination site suggest Israeli weapons were used to assassinate a leading Iranian nuclear scientist, an Iranian TV channel said.

On November 27, the Fars news agency reported on the assassination attempt on Fakhrizadeh, who ran a research center under the country's defense ministry in Tehran province. Later, the defense ministry confirmed that the scientist was injured and died in the hospital.

According to Fars, the scientist traveled in an armored vehicle but was killed by a remotely controlled automatic weapon when he got out of the car.

According to the agency, four bullets hit the scientist. Besides, Fakhrizadeh's bodyguard was hit by several bullets. The scientist was promptly taken to the hospital and died there.
